Ownership Signature

The Ownership Signature demonstrates copyright ownership by binding your file with your signature in a ZIP file before sending a hash value to the timestamp authority. The authority adds the timestamp to that hash value, creating a new hash value that reflects the image, the signature and the timestamp. Copyrobo returns that hash value to you along with your file and signature. As long as you don’t alter the ZIP file, the hash value provides uncontested proof that your file and signature were timestamped. The Ownership Signature makes copyright proof easy, speedy and secure.

The Ownership Signature uses your account name by default but you can create and select alternative Ownership Signatures if you are a Global or Pro Plan subscriber. Under the Pro Plan you can create and use multiple Ownership Signatures to reflect a variety of copyright ownership arrangements.

Public Signature

The Public Signature adds information to the ‘’CopyrightKey Notice’’ that accompanies every CopyrightKey. ‘’CopyrightKey Notice’’ (The URL of a web page copyrobo.com) contains information about your copyright and timestamp (including the authority, timestamp, and hash values). You can also add any contact information you wish by editing the Public Signature. You can also create multiple Public Signatures.

The information will be available publicly. You may want to add a Public Signature if you wish to license your published work (you can even add licensing terms) or direct inquires to a designated agent. It’s entirely up to you. You can even change the Public Signature anytime you want in the Activity Manager.

Email Receipt

Copyrobo
Copyrobo
You will receive an important email receipt for every Copyrobo service. Store this email where you normally keep important records. Do the same with the email’s attached files:
  • Zip file (your file and Ownership Signature)
  • The hash value (the encoded Hash file)
Do not rename or alter the contents of these files or you will invalidate your timestamp proof.
The email provides confirmation that your file is timestamped. It designates the timestamping authority; the laws and regulations governing your timestamp; your copyright service preferences, including the source and target for your file; relevant information about your CopyrightKey; and the contact information you provided. The email reminds you that Copyrobo does not keep a copy of your original file or evidence (zip file and hash value).

You will receive a separate email for every timestamp. Please keep all of them in a secure location.

File Evidence

Your Zip and hash value evidence is sent to a specially created Copyrobo folder in Google Drive, Dropbox, or Box if one of these is your target destination. Keep these files together and do not change the file names. You will need both files should you have to submit evidence to prove your timestamp.

Activity Manager

Copyrobo
The Activity Manager is where you will find information on all of your completed and pending copyright service transactions. Each entry shows the filename, timestamp date and time, the CopyrightKey, and the source and target of your activity. You can organize your activities into folders and search by filename. For single or multiple activities, you can delete or move your activities to a new folder. You can also change the name of any activity.
Copyrobo
More importantly, you can change your Public Signature for single or multiple activities and even turn on or off the copyright information linked to your CopyrightKey Notice. In Activity Manager, you control how much information you wish to share publicly about your copyright for every transaction.
